The 22nd James Bond film has picked up two nominations for the 14th Broadcast Film Critics Association’s Critics Choice Awards.

While the BFCA, like many orgs handing out awards at this time of year, likes to claim Oscar bellwether status, its newest category has little bearing on the main Academy races: best action film. The nominees are: “Dark Knight,” “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” “Iron Man,” “Quantum of Solace” and “Wanted" - reports Variety.

"Quantum" also picked up a nomination in the category of Best Song, despite the title track "Another Way To Die" coming under heavy fire from critics.

Founded in 1995, the BFCA has nearly 235 members reviewing pics for TV, radio or web outlets.

“At the Movies” duo Ben Lyons and Ben Mankiewicz co-hosted the announcement of the noms in Gotham’s Times Square. Proceedings were aired live on VH1, which will broadcast the kudocast Jan. 8 from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Nominees were read off by thesp Rosie Perez.
